SoberTrail Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of SoberTrail, an iPhone app provided by Jorge Avila, an individual developer (“SoberTrail,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

What SoberTrail does

SoberTrail is a personal alcohol-free day tracker. It lets you record days, review your calendar and preserved trail, write private notes, see milestones, and view estimates based on information you enter. SoberTrail does not provide treatment, coaching, diagnosis, medical advice, or emergency support. It is not affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous. No personal or health outcome is promised.

Your use and licence

You may use SoberTrail for lawful personal purposes. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. You may not misuse the service, infringe others' rights, interfere with its security or purchase controls, or copy or redistribute its software or content except as applicable law permits.

Your content and local storage

You retain ownership of the entries, reflections, notes, settings, and other information you create in the app. Your personal record is stored locally on your device, without a SoberTrail account or cloud sync service. If you delete the app or local data, reset or lose your device, or change devices, that record may be lost unless a backup you control preserves it. Restoring paid access does not restore deleted entries. If you choose to send content to support, you allow us to use it to investigate and respond to your request.

Estimates, reminders, and device features

Estimated savings and other impact figures depend on the information and counting settings you provide. They are approximations, not verified spending or consumption records. Optional notifications depend on your device settings and may be delayed or unavailable. You control notifications, biometric lock, and sharing through the app and iOS features.

Privacy and analytics

Our Privacy Policydescribes what stays on your device and what Apple, PostHog, RevenueCat, and Vercel may handle. Optional app analytics are on by default and can be turned off in SoberTrail's Privacy settings. We do not use them for targeted advertising or tracking across unrelated apps.

Purchases, subscriptions, and trials

SoberTrail may offer subscriptions and a one-time purchase for Full access through the Apple App Store. The purchase screen and Apple's confirmation show the applicable price, currency, billing period, and any trial or introductory offer. An eligible trial provides access for the displayed period and then converts to the disclosed paid subscription unless canceled under Apple's rules. Eligibility and available plans can vary.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Apple handles billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund requests. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple subscription settings before renewal, following the timing shown by Apple. Deleting the app or your local record does not cancel a subscription. A one-time purchase does not renew. Where supported, Restore Purchases can recover eligible access but cannot recover your deleted personal record.

Plans, prices, and availability may change subject to applicable law and App Store rules.

Third-party services and links

Apple, PostHog, RevenueCat, Vercel, and services you choose when sharing or contacting support have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party content or services outside our control. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to App Store downloads unless a separate custom licence is provided.

App changes, ownership, and feedback

We may update or discontinue features subject to applicable law. The app, its design, text, images, and other materials belong to us or our licensors. You may send feedback; we may use it to improve SoberTrail without compensation, unless we separately agree otherwise.

Disclaimers and liability

SoberTrail is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free estimates, recovery of deleted local data, or a particular personal outcome. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. Any limitation applies only where the law allows it; your non-waivable consumer rights remain in force.

Changes and contact
