SoberTrail Privacy Policy
This policy covers the SoberTrail iPhone app, this website, and messages sent to us for support. SoberTrail is operated by Jorge Avila (“SoberTrail,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Your record stays on your device
SoberTrail does not require an account for your personal record. Your day entries, reflections, notes, journey settings, typical alcohol spend, custom milestones, and counting preferences are stored on your device. We do not operate a cloud account or sync service for that record. Device backups you control may retain copies under Apple's backup settings.
You can erase your record in the app. Deleting the app, resetting your device, or losing access to it may also remove local information. A purchase restore restores eligible access, not a deleted record.
Optional app analytics
SoberTrail uses PostHogfor limited usage analytics that help us understand how people use the app and improve it. Optional analytics are on by default and can be turned off in the app's Privacy settings. Turning them off stops future optional collection; it does not automatically erase information already processed by PostHog.
Analytics may include a pseudonymous app identifier, limited technical context, and approximate location inferred from the network connection. Your day-by-day record and private content stay on your device. We do not send day entries, notes, reflections, exact dates, drink or spending amounts, estimates, or exports to PostHog. We do not create an identified person profile or use analytics for targeted advertising or tracking across unrelated apps. See PostHog's privacy policy for its handling and retention of information.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and payment details. SoberTrail uses RevenueCat to check whether Full access is active. RevenueCat may receive a pseudonymous app user identifier, purchase and entitlement information, and technical details needed for that service. We do not receive your full payment-card information.
Notifications, device features, and sharing
Optional notifications provide reminders and summaries. If enabled, Face ID or Touch ID protects access through Apple's local authentication system; SoberTrail does not receive your biometric template. You control these permissions through the app and iOS Settings.
Exports and images are shared only when you choose to use the system share sheet. The app does not upload your record to us. Another app or service you select may receive what you choose to share under its own policies.
Support messages
If you contact support, we receive what you put in your message and any attachments you choose to send. The app does not attach your personal record automatically. Please avoid sending sensitive notes or history unless needed for your request. We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, troubleshoot, and meet legal obligations.
This website
Vercel hosts sobertrail.mobiumlabs.com and processes request and technical information to deliver and secure it. This website currently has no account forms, advertising pixels, or site analytics scripts.
Sharing, retention, and requests
We use Apple for App Store services, PostHog for optional app analytics, RevenueCat for purchase access, Vercel for website hosting, and providers needed to answer support messages. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the service.
Local records remain on your device until you remove them, subject to backups you control. Erasing them does not cancel an Apple subscription or remove purchase history and information already held by service providers.
